Located on a quiet corner in an inner city suburb of Sydney, the large communal table is one of the most striking feature of Bills Darlinghurst. It is a rendezvous for young mothers, models, designers, employees of fabric and fashion houses in the area and is often a retreat for people visiting the nearby St Vincent's Hospital.

Bills is a bit overpriced, and the food is very oily.

Bill's has been around for years now but still regularly has a crowd waiting patiently on the sidewalk for a chance to grab a table or at least a seat at the communal table near the doorway. This is no doubt due to the fact that Bill's still turns out one of the best brekkies in Sydney - the scrambled eggs softened with heavy cream, and the potato pancakes, all accompanied by wonderful juices and excellent coffee. To me, the little restaurant is even more attractive now that it's mellowed simply because you get to see a good cross section of the (admittedly well-heeled) locals at play.
